Sunrises aren't nearly as popular as sunsets, because you have to get up so darn early. I manged to roll out of my tent on a camping trip early enough to catch this one.

And it's a good thing you did roll out of your tent: very nice shot. I had to get up at 4:15 and drive 30 miles to get this sunrise shot, as there were no campgrounds closer to Crater Lake because of the snow:



I shouldn't complain having to get up at 4:15. At Discovery Point, where the shot was taken, I met two photographers who had driven all night all the way from the northern coast of Oregon to get a Crater Lake sunrise shot.

Thats a great shot, if I could be guaranteed a shot like that I'd be up a lot more often.

Is that a little house up on top of that rocky point? Looks like an awesome place to sit with a bottle of wine and watch a storm role in.

It's also a very nice looking beach, what you can see of it.
