Post your Favourite Sunrises

I enjoy getting up early in the morning to watch the moments of the sun rising at dawn. I usually do this from a position on a rock platform about a 10 minute walk into the bush from my house. Those seconds, running through the bushes, not worrying about cuts, spiders, mosquitoes, or anything except the slow brightening of the clouds above my head which were hardly visible the minute before, are just wonderful. Me, my tripod, my K20D, my Sigma 14mm and the sunrise. And a note left on my door back in my room for anyone that wonders where I have gone (though all are still asleep when I return). I love the sunrise.

I did a quick search and didn't see any recent threads for posting sunrise pictures, and thought it would be great to see what other people have to show. Does anyone else have a special sunrise spot? Let's see what you've got.

My own aren't the best- I am still only 2 weeks into my K20D (my first SLR) - but I would be fascinated to see what you all consider as your favourites. Hopefully my computer will let me download some pictures to this thread properly soon. (Attatchments isn't working for me). Look forward to seeing the sunrises from around the world soon using the forum! Thanks.

Hi

Somehow I usually miss all sunrises and sunsets, even I live in Finland and at winter sun rises very late.

But last autumn I got some shots:

Autumn sunrise

Taken on Fuji Reala film. Did a quick "auto scan" of the print on a flatbed scanner. No sharpening or any other adjustments.

I posted these last year when I was testing a K135/2.5. I can't take credit for PP work as other than straightening, they are pretty much straight from DNG to jpg. I had driven past the beach the day before and the colours were amazing, so I grabbed my gear the next day and was lucky it was the same.....

Trying to download sunrises

I hope these worked. They are from Sydney, Australia at/before sunrise. I love the shots so far!

Hi MSD - The pics are not showing up....I think you're missing the square brackets around the img tags.....i.e. and the link needs a login....

When I try to download directly, I get this every time:
-Your submission could not be processed because a security token was invalid.

This error likely occurred due to a session timeout. Please log in again and refresh the previous page.-

Am I doing something wrong?

I went to Namibia in August this year - the colours were incredible. I was very happy with this shot.

I liked this one, too, though it doesn't quite have the oomph.

Namibia is great for landscape. Did you see much of the (Namib desert) sand dunes? They are renowned for being amazing.

Was it a Pentax P&S ???
Not that I really mind at all. You're Pentax now, right?
like the birds on the beach. Keep them coming! I feel bad saying that, though, as I still manage to fail every time I myself try to attatch images.
