Sorrento Back Beach (ie ocean beach - opposite side of the peninsular from Blairgowrie (bay) beach above.

That's the Surf City Fishing Pier in Surf City, NC.

Nice! My wife, then fiancée, and I used to go to Surf City and Topsail Island when I was stationed at Naval Hospital, Camp Lejeune way back in 1992! Thanks for the memories!! I love NC beaches!

We've only lived in the area for three years, so I don't know a lot of the history first hand, but I've seen photos. The Island has boomed with development since the 90s. But is not all touristy like a Myrtle Beach. It's a ten mile drive to get to the bridge and Surf City, but I'm probably there 3-4 times a week. Hmm, I went over this morning to do photos of sunrise (no sun today), my wife an I were at the beach yesterday, Thursday evening I went over and walked the south end and shot sunset, last Sunday morning I went to shoot sunrise and birds. I guess that was four times last week.

Pretty gloomy at the beach this morning, this was taken in morning twilight, before the sunrise that never came.
