Birubi Beach is 30 something Km long. They call it Stockton Beach at the other end. At this end (Anna Bay), it's Birubi.
We retired to Nelson Bay NSW in 2015 and we love it here. Birubi Beach is about 15 minutes away and I'm a bit of a fan-boy
It's backed up by sand dunes and is a tourist spot. Tank traps left over from WW2 line the lower car park that usually has a dozen or so big coaches parked. This was a very quiet day.
You can take a beach tour in a 4WD mini-bus, go sand boarding, do a Tin City tour (featured in Mad Max), or take your 4WD down the beach, pull out the sun shade and do some relaxed fishing.
You can also do the normal beach stuff, even if there is a bushfire building in the background
The sand dunes behind the beach are quite big.
