Thanks Tom - I'm enjoying your wonderful beach photos as well! The building is an unattended lifeguard shack - I've never seen an actual lifeguard in one of those. Maybe on weekends/holidays and during peak hours. That particular day there were crews working on rebuilding the beach - lots of equipment digging and shoring up the beach. All the digging had uncovered lots of edibles for the gulls - and they were swarming!

I thought it may be a lifeguard shack. At the beach where we frequent there are no lifeguards, but a "beach patrol", that drives up and down the beach, two or more people in four wheelers. I'm not sure what they are patrolling since they are usually looking at their cell phones.

This guy was out before the sunrise but after me, surprisingly I got there and saw nobody on the beach as far as I could see, for a few minutes.
