Extrude in Photoshop. That one was with pyramids.

Went for a walk along a fence line.

Hmm, I personally think proper abstract shouldn't make it easy to identify what you are looking at and leave much more open to the viewers interpretation (a Rorschach test is a perfect example of extreme abstract), but this is the closest thing I can find at the moment, I will have to do better. I'm sure I have something if I look in all the files, or else I will just have to get creative.
I suppose I can at least say this photo was as taken and not heavily photo shopped into an abstract, which is worth big bonus points in my book, though obviously some great things can come from PP abstract.
There are some amazing examples of abstract art in this thread, I just went through it end to end.

Nice image. There is much discussion on this point, I think. Abstract art began by "abstracting" recognizable objects e.g. Monet. It also evolved into purely Abstract art, where there are no recognizable objects. So, I believe that "abstract photography" can run the gamut- from recognizable objects that are creatively altered PP, to more altered images or point-of-views that can be appreciated for their pure form. Here's a good article...

Just found this thread. I love a bit of abstract photography, unfortunately a lot on mine is on film, not digital.

Here's a couple of digital shots.
