Close.

Great guess though!

A magnet in the differential housing of a semi tractor. When I was still turning wrenches a truck in the fleet came in on the hook one day with a broken differential. I got the job to pull them both apart, repair and rebuild them, and clean out the broken bits. It had been disintegrating for quite some time, as is evidenced by the collection of "fur" on the magnet.

The magnet is about 1" x 3", and the slivers in the photo about 1/4" long.

This next one is Christmas Day at my home, 2008.

The second one is so cool! I really like how you captured the Montana in the drop, it looks like a beer tap handle.

Came across this beetle struggling in a muddy pool, creating some rather interesting abstract patterns.

The wind then took over and created some more abstract patterns

These are plastic "Clips" used to hold packets closed in which bread is packed. An interesting facet here is that a local retailer has offered to buy and donate a wheelchair to a needy person, for every 5000 of these tags collected.

Here is one that looks bad at full resolution, but kinda nifty at a small scale. Its droplets on window illuminated by sunset, shot with DFA 100mm WR macro. Reminds me of those old 3D stickers

Neat patterns Noel. The mud is an odd color though!

Hmm… does this qualify as abstract?

It's a night photo of underwater plants lit by moonlight.

Another PP abstract. Supposed to be "emboss", but looks mire like "deboss" to me.
