The Very Essence - Show me your abstracts!

Why - I wonder - is there not a thread here for abstract photographs? The
minimalist thread is what comes closest, followed probably by the negative space
thread, but there is not such a thing as a thread for abstracts (or at least I couldn't
find it...). Some of us like to make abstracts though, why not collect our attempts in
one thematic thread?

I will start this one with a landscape blur.... The title is in Dutch, but it says sun beam...

Have fun shooting!

This is what I consider as abstract. On topic?

I believe that this one fits better than the previous one (already posted here):

Rense, Thanks for putting up this thread.........love your opening shot
I had been doing a whole series of abstract flower and leaf things just because I like to play around with composition, color and the use of in-focus and bokeh. Most of these have been shot with a CZ25 way up close with little or no cropping.
Here is one, may not be the best one...........

A GREAT idea for a thread, Rense. I love photographic abstracts, and have been puzzled why more people don't enjoy them. And your picture is a good starter.

Clou, I particularly like your "Trip to Nowhere" and Dunerunner, the subtle colors and shapes in your second one is lovely. It might be interesting to see how it looks if you remove the dark line in the upper left.

Here's one which was an accident and which got me started trying to deliberately make abstracts with soft outlines:

Tamia, that is one of the most attractive blur examples I've ever seen....

Very nice blur extravganza Tamia Quite an accident!
Alot of mine were shot with some of image in focus but I think they are abstact in nature, some of them kind of surrealistic an/or minimalist.

Thanks Rense and Dunerunner. Rense, Opposites is intriguing. Is it a ferris wheel? Dunrunner, I agree with you that shots with in-focus portions (or entirely in focus) can be abstracts. I love those seed pods. Manel, beautiful pattern.

Here's one from an experiment playing with fluids on a DVD...

I love abstract photography, and some great examples in here! I always find myself out looking for patterns and curious oddities where you don't expect them.

Rense, big fan of your shot of the london eye.

I've posted some of these in other threads but I reckon they fit in here too!

Good pick Rense and a good way to get it going indoors too. Like your Zonnestraaltje.
