Applied filters one by one to an image I thought might look good with such modification. Found an effect I liked, but when I cropped, I liked it even better.

This is the uncrropped version of the image posted a little above. I don't think it has as much visual appeal.

I agree, the cropped version is better. It might be worth trying a square crop from part of it also...

It's also pretty obvious what this is, and perhaps it should be posted on the patterns/textures thread. Instead, I'll post one version here and a different version there, but from a different image file.
