3-24 Light:Bokeh Highlight Winners

Week 24 of P52-3 we will shoot Bokeh Highlights. The idea is, to create
nice bubbles, or stars!!!, in your background....... Probably that's not too
difficult, but somehow they have to add to the photo, in telling a story, or
creating a special mood or so....

Based on this definition and the images I felt that fit it...
Rense-Your image qualified but I felt the highlights were a tad too subtle to really contribute to the image-nice portrait though.
Joe-nice DoF shot but I feel the highlights were a drop too subtle as well.
Voytech-I feel your shot was mostly bokeh not highlights-nice abstract
John-you're in the running. Interesting shot. Minimal color palette
Tamia-Very odd shot-pretty unique and good mood.
Iris-Your image was also interesting but the bokeh highlights and main subject seemed to have a distance and weren't that closely integrated, but still very pleasant on the eye.
Clou-Your older image would've won in a heartbeat but of course doesn't count. Newer image does count and there is enough of background image to count bokeh as highlight and not the image itself
Bruce- I don't really see bokeh highlights just blown out highlights of water reflection??
Tom-Your image really features highlights and they really compliment teh tone of the subject.
Mike S-same as Voytech's. Mainly bokeh not really any subject. Another nice abstract.

Tamia-get's the win(get ready to judge the nest one)

Tom is second

John is third.

If I sound subjective and opinionated-sorry that is the task at hand... Nice images the way around in any case

Thanks Mark, congratulations to Tamia and John. Really different from you Tamia, very nice. This was not what expected to do either. I drove through an area where the snow was glistening in sunlight last Sunday morning, but had no opportunity to stop (should made one!). Who knows, may have not worked out anyway.

Mark, thanks for judging and congratulations to the winners.

Sometimes date and the right picture do not correlate well

Congrats to the winners. I wish I had taken more opportunity to try other things... but I really liked everyone's entries. Varied approaches to this idea!

Good job judging, Mark!

Hey! Thanks Mark! Congratulations to Tom and John. Clou, I really like your photo of the statue and the bokeh, and it's too bad about it being out of the time frame.

Definitely some interesting shots. Congrats Tamia and Tom. Not to take anything away from your shot Tamia, but I thought Tom was going to win this one...the bokeh highlighting all the other trophies. Great DOF.

Thanks, The more I shoot with that 35/2.4, the more I like it.
