Where's the lake?
Lakeland Park, at the edge of Canton, Illinois. It's one of several small lakes there. All reclaimed strip mined ground. There used to be a lot of coal mining around here.

I just realized that you were wondering where the lake is IN THE PICTURE. There is no lake in the picture, just the sign. Others. please bear with me, here is a picture taken just after that one that shows a bit of the lake, but there are no picnic tables or benches in this picture:

This bench looks like it would be a nice place to sit and enjoy the view.....

...but there is a reason why no one is using it.......

....every few seconds it was drenched by the crashing waves!

These shots were taken during my recent visit to Point Pelee National Park, the full report can be found here: A visit to Point Pelee National Park - PentaxForums.com

They're not Park Benches but these 5 sets of decorated chairs in front of City Hall in Sydney NS are just as inviting

I lived near Taylor Creek for 18 months. It was a favourite place for dog walks and bike rides. I know the spot.

I you don't stare at them directly, sometimes you can catch a glimpse of those shy benches that like to lurk behind the hostas...
