Lakeland Park, at the edge of Canton, Illinois. It's one of several small lakes there. All reclaimed strip mined ground. There used to be a lot of coal mining around here.

I just realized that you were wondering where the lake is IN THE PICTURE. There is no lake in the picture, just the sign. Others. please bear with me, here is a picture taken just after that one that shows a bit of the lake, but there are no picnic tables or benches in this picture:

This bench looks like it would be a nice place to sit and enjoy the view.....

...but there is a reason why no one is using it.......

....every few seconds it was drenched by the crashing waves!
