The sign behind reminds me of David Crombie. One of my adventures when I was at Ryerson was to run for student council. My platform was "Frosh Power" and I won by 100 votes, with 279 ballots cast for this meagre slogan. David Crombie was the V.P. in charge of Student Affairs if memory serves me well. Well before he was Toronto's "tiny perfect Mayor". Among issues I participated in and helped move forward was the construction of Ryerson's co-op housing residence.
I have a funny David Crombie story to tell, maybe next time you're up.
So I wonder if the sign is a company related to his family or just a coincidence. For sure if you're selling real estate in Toronto, the name Crombie on your letterhead isn't going to hurt.
