I love the stone seats, though I'm not surprised no one is sitting on them, those have to hurt. Like these, some times life jackets come in handy.

Stone benches and the like tend to be cold or hot. Sitting on cold things is said to cause haemorrhoids to protrude (but cold is supposed to reduce swelling?). Sitting on hot things could burn your ass.

A photo of a bench may simply confirm the best view.

Or perhaps, at a deeper level, may cause wonderment about who may have sat there, alone or with company, what was then done, thought and/or talked about, or a reminiscence of someone no longer with the viewer, of a time parsed etc.

I like your original post.

Hmmmmmmmm. Didn't we used to have a thread on lonely benches?

Richard.

Great photos!

enoeske, those benches match the skyscraper environment perfectly. Love the fence too!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the theme Sparkle. Yes, so true, and quite elementary.

But the thing about Dave's photo is anything but! Now, I could write a few stories about the deeper meaning of a drowning lonely bench. (great photo Dave)

Thanks too Richard.... I guess I should check before starting these types of threads. For those who have been around the Pentax site for a few years I'm guessing you have seen many repeats!

Nothing truly gets repeated Tess, just a new viewpoint. Guess that is photography.

Sorry, Tess. I wasn't criticising. Those threads disappeared ages ago. It's a good idea to revive the theme and expand it.

Hey Heirich, great shot of Superior. I thought those old BBQ's were a thing of the past!

I see above another stone seat. Those I have sat on... not all that pleasant in cold weather!

Ash is that gorgeous photo an HDR? The colours are out of this world beautiful, and I love the painted bench! Cool pic!!
