The diminutive but sweet sounding Cape White Eye, a bird that you will usually hear first before seeing it.

a barbet, I think a yellow & red barbet, but it doesn't quite fit the description nor images of any species of barbet in my books or on line.

That is known around here as a Crested Barbet.


Quartet of Lesser Blue eared Starlings-raiders at Picnic spots.

Haven't posted an image of this free-loading genet for some time. It was scrounging dropped food from a restaurant deck.

Could be an immature CB. Some parts, though not all of it, fits with what I read in my book on them e.g, the yellowish beak.

Pigmy falcon. I'll PP some other views of that barbet, but I doubt it's a crested. It would have to do quite a bit of color & pattern change.
