Birds?
One bird (in this particular image)

I was crossing the hillside, and practically stumbled over a trio of ptarmigans feeding between the rocks... They let me get within 7 or 8 feet, and even then they just kinda ambled off the other direction... I was amazed I could get good wildlife shots with the kit lens. I'll post more later, just wanted to toss this one up and see how well the birds' camouflage worked

This is fun - is it a hawk or some large bird? Looks like it's facing away from the camera with it's head poked into the rocks ???

edit - oops, I see you answered

I spy with my eye

Cropped up pretty good. Too far away with my 50-135....but the coyote and I had a staring contest. I won.

Grandaddy Crawdaddy

My son (46 and, like his dad, still a kid at heart) fished this out of a stream this afternoon. It's the biggest crayfish I've ever seen.

That's one big crawdaddy, Dave.

Have one I took today. Didn't expect to see any wild birds this time of year but this one was near another water park I have started to frequent.

Great Blue Heron.
