Whip snakes here have a very elongate, slender rear body & tail, that with the scales look like the braided tip of a whip.

That's a bird that I would still like to see. Two are listed for Southern Africa, and both rare migrant sightings.

Seen three versions of the boobie: blue-footed, red-footed, and brown. Gannets are very similar.
This is not a boobie - perhaps a model that escaped from a plastics factory.
