Wow! You just nailed that one Baro-nite--the white highlights tiptoe right up to the blow-out point but never cross it.

Thanks Dave! I've been less skillful or lucky with some other white-plumed birds lately... Had some distant shots at a hooded merganser the other day, completely blew out the lovely white crest. Going to try again today.

Taking my tamron adaptall 60-300 for a spin. Lots to learn on this one. But very excited by initial results!

Superb Fairy Wren, aka Blue Wren. This is the male.

am thrilled to bits on this one. it was a spray and pray one - hadn't intended to catch him landing. just wanted to catch him, full stop.

and this is the female. girls look a bit dull i comparison

but she posed prettily (and patiently) and that's all that matters

Some beautiful shots here lately, wolfiegirl, love the Red Brow Finch. You aussies have birds I'll never get to photograph and I appreciate your postings. TFS

I have a few I got today but I'll only show you the one I've processed so far.

Thanks photolady Happy to oblige you with more pics. Love having a reason/excuse to post. Your blue heron looks very pretty. I don't get much of a chance to take pics of big birds here. Am just working on the smalls atm.

Here's more of the superb fairy wren, aka blue fairy wren from yesterday on the Tamron adaptall 60-300 23a with the kx

He's a bit shy my blue wren..

Ahh... there we go.
