Great composition without the Windows reference!

Went to a couple of wildlife spots yesterday, as I was driving by one marshy area I saw a couple Bald Eagles sitting on the ice, I turned around and parked, slowly walking towards them, there is a man made dike separating two parts of the marsh so I started out slowly, didn't get the greatest shots of the eagles, one took off, the other waited a couple of minutes and took off. Very close to the eagles were a group of American Coots, one male Mallard, and another duck, possibly a female scoter. Everthing was frozen except the little spot by the bank they were keeping open. As I got closer, a Northern Harrier (or Marsh Hawk) flew out of the grasses at the edge of the water, then another hawk, and then another. Apparently the hawks and eagles were waiting for a coot to stray away from the safety of the flock. I continued walking by and around on the dike. It was about two miles around so I was able to sneak up a little and see that the Harriers were stalking the coots again, at this time another group of Coots came around a corner of reeds walking toward the open ice, wheather they were afraid of me or saw the Hawks, they started to fly and joined the other Coots.

+1! I especially like the pair of Marsh Hawks -- I'll always call them that, old-fashioned coot that I am. Speaking of coots, they say comedy is hard, but that's not true for coots! Both those shots are really funny.

Thanks Paul, wish they were a little sharper, I think I was a little shaky, ground not firm, wearing gloves and all.

Thanks, Watching those coots run and take off was hilarious, they look so uncoordinated.

That last one's my favourite ramsbuckeye! Great story of how you got the shots! I need to go out bird shooting again. Now that I'm back at work there isn't enough time in the mornings to go stalking birdies, and in the evenings I'm not having half as much luck capturing them.

And for something a little different that I'm sure all the birds on this thread will love...

What looks suspiciously to me like a bug orgy. *shudder*

Thanks wolfiegirl! I had to do this on the weekend, it's Winter here and dark on the way to work, not much light after.

By the way, I think hangman's birds is eyeing your worms!
