African heron. I forget the correct name at this moment. It will come to me, after I look in the book.

Black headed Heron- distinguished from the Grey Heron>
Here is the Grey variety, and this one, a youngish bird, got it all wrong. So excited to see its lightning fast speed as it speared something, only to come up with a bulb of one of the lilies. It struggled to get the thing off.

Would NOT want that mama after me when I was a kid.
One of three images on which I caught a tree swallow in flight. Pity the trees in the far background weren't all that nice bright green.

Bighorn sheep, females and juveniles. Scan from a chrome which did not come out quite as well as hoped. Difficult to separate the sheep from the background rocks.

Shouldn't that be "separating the sheep from the goats" ?

Could be

Another image of the snapper posted somewhere above. She had a bit of sand on her snout, but I'm not sure why. SFAIK turtles to not use their face either to dig nesting holes or fill them in. That's all hind leg work. Maybe they test the area with their face to see if it's suitable for digging? Not sure. BTW: Snappers never eat on land, only in the water.
