This is one of two lizards present on almost every stone wall in the Azores, and there are LOTS of stone stone walls. The other lizard is much smaller with stripes. Looks like a different species, but there's a chance it's a juvenile of this one. Some animals change color dramatically when they reach maturity.

The ant eats chats? Another whale of a picture, youngster (left) and adult that might or might not be its mother. Sometimes an "aunt" will stay with a youngster that is too young to keep up with its mother doing a deep dive.
