Yes, definitely a Willet, in non-breeding plumage.

Doesn't the theory say that reptiles and birds are related

not sure that the tortoises from the previous photos, and the egrets and the crocodiles in this photo would all behave at a family reunion

who needs a "lazy boy" recliner??

The first photo of the female White-Handed Gibbon and its baby was taken while I sat at a window side table in the Tree Top Restaurant in the Lied's Asian Jungle in the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha NE. You may be able to see a slight distortion caused by the window which makes up an entire side of the restaurant. I used my Pentax K 3 + HD PENTAX-DA 16-85mm F3.5-5.6 ED DC WR. The next two photos were taken when I was standing on the walkway outside of the restaurant and I used my Tamron AF 70 - 300 mm macro zoom ld 1:2.

Birds are actually dinosaurs, direct evolutionary descendants of the meat-eaters, actually close relatives of Tyrannosaurus. Turtles are more ancient. I have not kept closely informed with the most current analysis, but I suspect that turtles are as close to humans as to egrets, unlikely as that may seem.

Tricolor heron I believe.
