Fresh from a 3 day visit to Pilansberg National Park. Big 5 country, and my son and I were blessed to see 4 of them- buffalo were more elusive this time round.

This one is in a zoo, so not technically "wild," but images of many captive specimens have been posted on this thread.

[judging from the numerous animals which have been pictured here as WPRESTO has noted, I didn't realize that "wild life" was interpreted literally. Instead I thought the thread was for photos of animals that were "wild life" regardless of where the animal was found as opposed to "pets" or "domesticated" animals.

Otherwise, IMHO. we lose some excellent photos of examples of "wild life", some of which are now only found in captivity, unfortunately, and limit the posters to this thread to those lucky enough to be able to photograph animals in the wild.]

Speaking of being lucky, here is a photo of two male giraffes found in the Tarangire National Park in Tanzania, note the wear and tear evident on the horns from competition for mating purposes.

A female pale-faced saki monkey doing a bit of grooming. Males have the pale face.

A black panther (dark phase leopard). The uniform black color, small ears and longish muzzle makes the face of this cat slightly less "pretty" than that of other felines.
