The zoo here in town has lemurs but it seems they are never out when I go. The exhibit is also small and difficult to photograph. However Binder Park Zoo in Kalamazoo, Michigan has an exhibit that let's them roam freely. The zoo is much much larger than the one here. This ring tail was just sitting around waiting for a photo op.

A baboon in the wild. Ring tailed lemurs seem far less shy than most of the lemurs, to the point of being brazen, and they seem to do very well in captivity.

That sounds about right WPRESTO. All the captive Ring tailed Lemurs I have seen in Zoo and animal parks are never shy.

A greatly aroused male impala. The target of his ardor is just out of sight to the right, tail down, annoyed, and evasive.

Me thinks that is a Springbok, with those white facial markings. Impala have much duller facial markings. Here's one

Makes me think of the tune "Baby Elephant Walk" composed by Henry Mancini for the film "Hatari" .

My wife and I along with our guide actually ate lunch at the Momella Wilderness Lodge [Hatari Lodge] near the Arusha National Park when the film was shoot in Tanzania. [It was the only time we ate with our guide at a lodge]

It had seen better days frankly. We ate on the porch and didn't seem much of the lodge, might be worth considering if you wanted to be right next to the park

here are some zebras we found in the Tarangire National Park in Tanzania

all photos are cropped and lightened via pp. The zebras were there in "force" along with wildebeests and wart hogs.

the first photo has a young foal, can't tell if it is a colt or filly

the second can really screw up your eyes with the stripes.
