Caracal, a captive of course. It's probably well-nigh impossible to get so close to a wild one.

BTW noel: Do you use the term "cormorant" rather than "shag" in SA?

We call them Cormorants WPRESTO. Never heard of the word shag in connection with a bird before. And no mention of such in my bird books.

FYI: Try to GOOGLE "shag - bird." "Shag" seems to be the term used by British. I encountered it in New Zealand where a bird I would call a "cormorant" was locally called a "shag." It's likely, just because of geography and distribution of species, that "shag" is applied to different species than "cormorant."

A handsome elephant that is real poacher bait with those tusks.

The British may also use the term "shag" for a different meaning if the "Austin Powers" films are right in their usage
