The British may also use the term "shag" for a different meaning if the "Austin Powers" films are right in their usage
Yes, as a verb.

If we have GPS co-ordinates in pictures for flora & fauna that we wish to protect,
it might be wise to strip that data before posting. While animals do roam they
are also creatures of habit. I have not looked for GPS data here, so I don't know
how often it is included, but your comment made me think of that.

this small shallow pond at the Kansas City Zoo in Kansas City Missouri held 2 trumpeter swans, Cygnus buccinator

Trumpeter Swan, Identification, All About Birds - Cornell Lab of Ornithology

three northern pintail ducks Anas acuta

Northern Pintail, Identification, All About Birds - Cornell Lab of Ornithology

as well as two mallards Anas platyrhynchos .

Mallard, Identification, All About Birds - Cornell Lab of Ornithology

They all refused to cooperate for the group photograph, it was a conspiracy I tell you [ that's my story and I am sticking to it ]

that's my story and I'm sticking to it Definition in the Cambridge English Dictionary

the mallards and pintails were wild visitors ( although the mallards probably are resident because of the food and protection from predators found at the zoo.)

hard to confirm from this cropped photo but I believe this is a mourning dove, if not, it was doing a heck of a job impersonating the call of a morning dove as I took the photo.

normally, I observe a bird from the side or from the front or from underneath as it is flying overhead

recently at the Kansas City Zoo, I found two Canada Geese presenting another view and feathers I had never seen before

I'm sure that some poster will provide us with the fancy names for those feathers some time.
