Very nice everyone. I especially like the Elk and fox shots.

I went out fishing today at a local lake. I decided to take a camera this time as last time I saw a lot of wading birds, even an eagle catching a fish. I have a small one man pontoon that I fish from. It has an electric trolling motor, so it is silent, which makes it pretty easy to get close to the wildlife.

Here is a short series of shots of a Great Blue Heron fishing. Taken with my K20D and Tair 3 lens.

I`m not familiar with that Tair but it looks like a nice piece of glass, great series. Nr 2 is tacksharp and great great timing on nr3.

Thanks! The Tair 3 is a Soviet era fully manual preset lens. It was designed to be mounted on a rifle like stock, which is called a Photosniper. It actually works GREAT on the rifle stock, but I didn't use it yesturday (not enough space on the small boat).

The lens itself is EXTREMELY sharp and has great bokeh at all Fstops since it has 18 aperture blades that make a perfectly circular aperture at all fstops.

It is my go-to lens for wildlife, and although it is rather heavy at 4 lbs. I never go on hikes or outings without it.

Here's a few more taken with the same lens last week. After getting home from work, I saw a small herd of elk bedding down in an open space area in my neighborhood.

Some already asleep

I can see why this is your go-to lens, those are really nice and very sharp images
4 lbs (1,8 kgs, right?) isn`t that that bad, my sigma 100-300 F4 is not much lighter.

The horse fly can barely be made out in front of its face . . .

I've always heard of a "stiff upper lip." Now I think I know what that means!

Thanks dadipentak and Pentaximus. I was stalking several zebras but maintained contact with the truck since there were lions, elephants and wart hogs in the area. Something annoyed them and they went over the hill. I think it was horse flies (Diptera: Tabanidae). I have some more shots of a couple of other groups of Zebras. They make some interesting noises and the "stiff upper lip" sums it up.
