Noelcmn posted an image of one of these Indian minah birds taken in South Africa (I presume), which reminded me of these that I photographed in Hawaii. Cannot recall if they were an accident or purposeful introduction, but they are doing well and are probably (not sure) having a negative impact on some species of the endemic honey creepers. BTW: at the time I was using a 1980's version of the Tamron 70~300mm and both images below are cropped, the second one quite a lot. That lens always was quite good and also an incredible bargain for use on a FF body.

Starting to get through my shots. And there may be quarter of a million impala in the Kruger, but I never tire of seeing them - they're such photogenic animals

Nice.

My first car was a 1962 Chevrolet Impala.

They are terrible birds, and originally only 4 pairs were released around the turn of the 19th century in Durban, about 600km from Johannesburg, and today they have spread right across SA (except the western parts but headed there) and there are some attempts to keep them from places like Kruger Park, Pilansberg National Park and others. They are officially considered a pest, and you can legally let loose you frustration at life on them . Intelligent, aggressive, excellent mimics and nest just about anywhere. Very successful breeders. Zoo Lake has hundreds of them.

You might be disappointed to hear that precious few of the impala in Kruger are made by Chevrolet
