Yellow billed hornbill, here at its nest. Very interesting nesting habits it has, with the female "sealed" in a tree hole, with only a small opening for the male to bring food. Once the eggs hatch, she breaks out, the nest resealed and the chicks fed through the hole.

Amazing behaviour. This thread is like an Attenborough documentary.

LOL - Who then would be the American equivalent? Australians have Urwin, the French Jacques Cousteau, here we have the Varty Brothers (not forgetting a distant Noel ) but the Americans? I'm struggling here

In my neck of the woods it would be a gentleman by the name of Brian Keating.

Formerly with the Calgary Zoo, now I hear him on the radio doing sat phone interviews from all sorts of strange corners of the planet.

I do like Attenborough.

I think in the USA it would have to be all the personnel who make NOVA, although the programs cover a wider range of topics than wildlife.

great program

I was thinking more along the line of " Presenters " as our British friends would call them

the person narrating if you understand what I am saying

Jeff Corwin is a newer one from the US

Lion with Zebra kill on the left- A bit far, even for the 500mm + x2 teleconverter.

I doubt that he needs it, they are so adept at disappearing, even for such a big animal.
