Male cardinal visiting the feeder. This pair has been very wary and quick to leave. No luck as yet getting a picture of the female.

Incomplete rogues' gallery of the birds coming to my feeders at the moment.
Bluejay - - cat bird - - chickadee - - white-breasted nuthatch - - hairy woodpecker - - tufted titmouse - - Carolina wren - - red-bellied woodpecker - - and a ruby-throat hummingbird, the best among numerous unsatisfactory images. The hummers come and go so fast they are a real challenge to reflexes and AF. There are quite a few additional species not in this set.

Thanks for the compliment but you shouldn't be envious. I see all the raptors and diversity of medium-sized ground-foraging birds you get to photograph. I'll wager your species list for a year is five times longer than mine, at the least.

I think I have the right id for the bird below, an option that skipped my mind (easy for anything to pass through that void, camels much prefer it to needles). The bird pictured is a female brown-headed cowbird - - unless of course I'm wrong.
