Another image of the young hawk that was just standing by the road. Thanks to help from a better birder than I, I'm pretty confident it's a juvenile red-tailed hawk.
Where do you find all those animals, WPRESTO? Where do you photograph?

Most wildlife images are collected when traveling - to Florida numerous times (great place for birding), once to Kenya & Tanzania, once to Alaska, and other places. Some I find locally, especially when I can put out a bird feeder. The hawk was just standing by the side of the road, in a midst of many houses, when we returned from our AM walk. And it just stood there as I backed the car, retrieved the camera, and rolled down the window. I got ten or twelve images good enough to post before it took to the air. Total blind luck.

Hyenas are very interesting animals. They are the continent's best garbage disposals, even better than vulchers. Many thanks for a great job photographing this one.

Cheers,

Tony

She brought her two kids. This one was as bold as its mother, the other was more cautious and stayed back at the very edge of the woods.

Awesome, my step-son has deer coming out of the woods at his house. Around here, we have to many poachers for that. The last time I called to report poacher, the MNR officer in Bancroft told me they'd used up the gas budget for his truck already that month.

Bu tif a deer comes on your lawn and someone shoots it right in front of you, they'll come.

But it still takes them another hour to get here.

Laws are only as good as 1) the willingness of the vast majority of people to obey them; 2) the resources/personnel available to enforce them.

"Rules" and sometimes laws also depend upon who thinks they are empowered to apply/enforce; how they interpret the rule or law; and when/where/how they decide to enforce it.

This is the second of the two fawns. It did not venture far from the edge of the woods out into my wildflower garden.
