Pileated are such handsome birds, but they can be quick to come & go and sometimes like to work and nest exasperatingly high up on trees. They come through our yard sometimes, but never linger long enough for me to get an image. However, back in the film era a pair built in a snag tree in a beaver pond along a paved bike trail, quite low and not that far out into the pod. I got a long series of images from working on the hole to fledging of the young (four hatched and I think two survived).

A rather poor picture of a jacana, especially compared to the one posted above by noel.
