And there was a Giant Kingfisher too , a few meters apart- How blessed can you get!

A chipping sparrow, cute, but it's no African Kingfisher. FYI: the difference between the two images = the first taken through a double-pane thermal window with the camera well back from it, the second had only air between the camera & the bird.

Another robin. Taking pictures of robins is like photographing rocks because you cannot locate any flowers.

Thank you. I am an avid bird watcher, but not fanatical, and keep a sort of loose record of sightings. Of the 10 species of Kingfishers, I have 3 more to go!

A rodent with the general name "ground squirrel," but there are different species and I don't recall which one this is.

I didn't know there were so many different Kingfishers Good luck on spotting 3 more
