These are scans from chromes taken on Tobago. We were also out in boats, worked our way through a mangrove swamp to a spot where scarlet ibis roost overnight, BUT they didn't come in until sundown, the sun sinking below the horizon when they started to fly in. Horrible conditions for using a camera with ISO 200 slide film (? - not certain what was in the camera as I used Velvia, Kodacrome, or a couple speeds of Ektachrome, but very rarely something with ISO as high as 400). Visually the ibis were wonderful, but capturing them in the gloaming with such slow film was pretty much impossible.

One of several Kudu bulls from my recent visit to Addo Elephant National Park. My impression is that they are increasing in number.

My large bird, emu in a zoo (not the limo emu). Scan. If these large birds are an indication of how "intelligent" their dinosaurian ancestors were, well, they were pretty witless.

This crocodile blends with the background so it takes a moment to see it despite the crystal clear water. Scan

Two more images of elephant seal, females or young males. The first heaving sand upon itself, the second with a sand "blanket" presumably as protection from the sun. The gigantic adult males don't arrive here until later, and they make walking on the beach more dangerous. Scans
