Golden Weaver- since the other possibilities are excluded from that location-Cape Weaver. Also the Yellow Weaver, which is more uniform yellow.

Expecting to see these one of these fine days
thanks

the problem with bird reference books are that they cannot be totally reliable - the known range charts I mean

Stevenson's " Bids of East Africa " indicates that most choices are not found in the crater

however it appears that the female Golden-Back Weaver Ploceus jacksoni might be the bird - plate 258

reputedly the heaviest bird that can fly -

FLIGHT:
Kori Bustard is a large terrestrial bird. It is not flightless, it is just about the heaviest flying bird there is. It flies only when necessary, because of its weight. Its flight is strong with slow flapping wings. It takes off with very heavy wing beats, but once in flight, it flies quickly and strongly. - Kori Bustard

believe it or not

I never saw the yellow baboon in the photo until your comment

amazing what you can miss in the field and in the photo

the bonus was finding the Greater Kudu in that area

I knew your comment was referring to the kudu, a magnificent creature, but I had a faint idea maybe you had not noticed that baboon. I've discovered things in photographs I did not see when tripping the release. One I remember particularly - I had set the camera low looking somewhat up at the underside of a Queen Anne's lace, to get a different perspective and also capture the interesting branching that supports the platform (umbel) of flowers. When I brought it up for PP on the monitor at home, there was a tiny spider, and sharp enough that the image eventually went on the "spiders" thread rather than with flowers.

An unidentified turtle

Part of a herd of whitetail deer spotted from the road last night. I can spot one buck in this photo, a few hundred yards away was another group with at least six bucks, (sorry, didn't get a good photo)

a couple of yellow baboons with a Greater Kudu in the brush behind them

our Massai Guide pointed out the fact that the tails of baboons are different from those of other monkeys.

it is angled up right so the mother can carry the baby as it matures on the female's back

younger babies are carried on the stomach
