Yet another image from scans of a visit to an aquarium. This is a curious and cute little fellow. It obviously depends on camouflage to some extent, and uses large pectoral fins with extended hook-like fin rays to hold onto the substrate and also to "walk" along.

Walt, was this taken at The New England Aquarium? If so, I haven't been there since the age of ten. Nice work.

Not NEA. I'd have to check but I think this was the Steinhart Aquarium in/near San Francisco, but it might have been another I visited in the film era down near Virginia Beach.

I'd say that's a great pelican, and white as well.
I'm still posting scanned shots from a visit to an aquarium back in the '90s.

Second picture: you sure that's not a "Schmoo"? (Assuming you remember who Al Capp was.)

First, the shrimp reminded me of a Japanese friend of mine, learning English, made his first joke in English: "What's the difference between a lobster and Japanese man killed by bus?" (He really meant, how are they similar, not how are they different, and note the lack of definite articles.)

Answer: "crushed Asian".
