A place I'd love to visit! We have a Roller species in Australia - the Dollar Bird. Colourful, but not quite as colourful as the African one!

saw a lot more of them this trip and got several nice photos of it in that thorn bush

the only captive water fowl on the ponds at the Topeka Zoo and Conservation Center are the two breeding adult trumpeter swans

their cygnets will be going elsewhere to be released into the wild [ these are getting big and I am surprised they are still at the zoo ]

Almost certainly a Wattled Starling, probably a non breeding male, since there is no wattles. Here are examples of my sightings for comparison and confirmation. The yellow behind the eye is diagnostic.
