The Zambezi region is always a great place for all sorts of birds
Two wonderful images, but the owl is really special.
A thief, lying in wait with numerous co-conspirators for unwary tourists. One of them swiped a can of Coke as soon as it was opened. This local gang is addicted to Coca Cola.

Elephant seals (sea lions). Females and youngsters that gather on this California beach before the massive males come ashore. Covering themselves with sand presumably as sun protection (hard to prove). Scans.

A Tasmanian wallaby called a "pademelon," with a body sometimes likened to a Shmoo.

The name pademelon is of Aboriginal origin. Nice shot. It looks like it could have been at Cradle Mountain?

In the vicinity. Just off the pavement of the parking lot at the lodge where we stayed before going into Cradle Mountain, and did not climb BTW, not enough time by a wide margin. Just as well, the osteoarthritis in my knees stiffens them terribly after about 5 miles (~8.5km) making it dangerous for me to walk anywhere that isn't flat and smooth.

Right, I have similar photos from Cradle Mountain Lodge. I confess I haven't been to the top of Cradle Mountain myself - because the two occasions that I've been to Cradle Mountain, it was winter and the mountain had snow on it.
