I heard a loud bang on the roof last week, on my way outside to investigate I noticed this guy on the fence contemplating whether to fly down and pick up the now dead small bird that had apparently caused the bang. I had enough time to get the camera and fire off some shots through the (very dirty) window before it flew off.

I'm not sure if it's a collared sparrow hawk or brown goshawk

It's feared that recent fires near Sidney may have killed 30% of the wild population of Koala. It's within possibility that with the losses already sustained, and more to come because of the fierce hot weather, that Koala will disappear completely from vast areas they once inhabited.
