Not that long ago they were migratory in Ohio, always returned in March, now they are there all year, at least some of them are.

A pair of Broadhead Skinks, they were basking on log next to each other, but I could not get them in a single frame:

I seem to recall that at one time these creatures were believed to have been extinct. If I am wrong in this, please feel free to set me straight. Wonderful photography, sir.

Black-throated blue warbler. it was flitting in the scrubby growth ahead of me while I was out walking Dahlia. I only had the Sony RX100 VI along, 24~200 FF equivalent zoom. Snapped four images, three of which the AF locked on an intervening branch but this one was OK. This is a very deep crop from a one-inch sensor.

Another shot of a boisterous and agitated young Elephant, that was posted to the Alphabet Thread.

Comment on identifying a catbird in the Petersen Field Guide to the Birds: "The chestnut undertail coverts may not be noticeable." HA!

Yet another bear, a young one who I didn't spend a lot of time photographing, as I didn't feel like having an interview with mum...

Captive young koala. Although it doesn't know, it is probably much, much better off here than out facing both the disease and fires that have decimated wild populations.
