Delighted to see a African Jacana at Florida Lake, a bird usually seen in big game reserves, not in a urban setting.




The Heronry there has a lot of breeding Black Headed Herons

not everyday do ya get to shoot a gbh with the fa77..he was way more interested in fishing which was accomplished but out of reach when it did....k-1

It looks as though something is stuck in his throat, but more likely it's congenital or an injury.

A European or Eurasian golden plover, taken as the first sign of Spring in Iceland. I would have named it a black-bellied plover.

Whilst not the primary reason for lining up this shot, I was simply after the rocks, the resident seals were swimming about and I thought I would try and include one. Had to crop a fair bit to make this work (they just weren't going where I wanted) and the focus was higher up in the scene, as such the seals head doesn't hold up to close viewing. But saying that I think it works.
