Bird feeder thief being stealthy when scouting the territory, and a bit clumsy on the final approach. His ears may have been notched for research purposes.

Yes sir, you are correct as those notches are a result of ear tags. Excellent wildlife capture. I wonder how you managed to get in so close. Well executed and many thanks

Feral cats are often notched after spaying/neutering/vaccinating so they are not retaken for treatment later. Don't know about 'coons.
