Almost there now!

Not hardly--it's a big job.

So it is! A few swings with that lens would probably take it down, though.

Indeed!

Here's an impala encountered in the Luangwa Valley, Zambia.

Nice one and great photos Dave.
SORCO - The South Okanagan Rehabilitation Centre for Owls brought Houdini the 15 year old Great Horned Owl to Grand Forks today. The staff was nice enough to bring him out from the booth for me to take a few shots without buildings around.

Thank you! Impalas are everywhere, so many tend to ignore them. They are beautiful animals, though.

Buffalo from the same area. I think they often look good in black&white - it brings out more detail.

A little intimacy with a moose, one that isn't quite wild.

A series I'd love to add more to in the near future.

An elephant with her calf, not to be approached.

Under the Jones Falls Expressway

I chanced upon this heron after parking at the restaurant where we were celebrating my daughter's graduation. The longest lens I had with me was the Sigma 50-150/2.8 but it did ok.

Here's a very tame grouse. He almost climbed atop my camera bag when I set it down. Taken with a 17-70, but in the deep shade his movement blurred everything except his head, which birds tend to keep steady between jerky motions.

Nice one! I have yet to see a mature YCNH in the wild.

Thanks! I'm surprised they've eluded you--they're pretty easy to find (a bit harder to photograph ;~) on our urban streams.

From your location in No. Carolina it wouldn't be too hard to get to some of the Florida "hot spots" where YCNH and others are quite common. The Alligator Farm in St. Augustine is a possibility, although snowy egrets, GBH, storks & others are more common there.
