Apropos dining on their benefactor, the ox peckers sometimes do, even though ticks and bugs are their main diet. And why they are tolerated and welcomed by their "hosts". You will just have to imagine this kudu being an ox.

Another artiodactyl, but one not commonly followed by cattle egrets.

Nice shot, interesting bokeh.

Thanks, the 55-300 can produce some nice bokeh at times.

A BNIF shot with no bokeh! Saw this guy at the marina yesterday morning, making the usual clucking sound associated with the species. He stayed there for quite awhile, even as our small dog cautiously approached him. I did what I could with the cluttered background, armed with a little P&S camera.

Another heron. Definitely taken with an SMC DA 55-300.

Probably pleasant for the vultures! Nice shot.
Not to mention the fact that the situation would be worse for the surrounding residents if the vultures weren't cleaning up (imagine if the undertakers and garbage collectors went on strike). Thank you, vultures!
