This is a clapper rail chick, I was able to take the photo from an elevated boardwalk over a section of salt marsh, I've been trying to keep an eye on these chicks since I first saw them a couple of weeks ago, a yesterday I was lucky enough to catch them in open areas. Already at this age they can move through the grass undetected.

Big Horn sheep, either a female or a youngster. There were no big males in the group we stumbled upon.

A brief excursion into the realm of watery wildlife. Photographing fish through the surface is never as satisfactory as photographing them in a tank at an aquarium.

This tricolored Heron took a look at me and did not seem to be bothered at all, because he was at a bountiful smorgasbord.
