Red-bellied fire finch (great name for a little red bird). Obliged to use flash in the deep shade where this feeder had been placed.

Thanks very much, Tony! This is actually one of my fave images, shot a few years ago at the botanical garden. I posted it elsewhere back then, but dusted it off for this thread. I stalked that heron for quite some time that day, waiting to get him/her in a decent pose, the bird was very very active...but eventually, captured this wonderful pose on one of the garden's benches. Glad you like it!

I was lucky enough two see two tricolored herons this morning, this one flew up to this railing and let me get very close. And I was lucky enough to get the third eyelid in a photo.
