as I'm shooting the sunset last night, this coyote decided to surprise me by adding his voice to the rest of the coyotes




not the greatest shot, since he was halfway across the south field and all I had was 100mm to catch him with....

Tree swallows departing their nest. AF is hopeless for these birds, so I focused on the snag where they had their nest and pressed the shutter release when they came out. Aside from missing focus, they move so fast a shutter speed of 1/2000 or shorter is needed to hold the blur in check. The female,, not up to air speed and slightly farther away than the male, is in better focus. The male seems to have his mouth open in bug-snaring mode, but as I recall he was vocalizing.

Female black and white warbler. As with so many warblers, they are constantly on the move. These are deep crops.

Yellow warbler. Deep crop. These bright little birds were more cooperative with their perches today than yesterday.
