Making great strides across the open savanna of the Norongoro Crater in Tanzania

Secretarybird (Sagittarius serpentarius)

"Although it can fly, the secretarybird prefers to move around on foot and can cover 30 km a day, earning it the title ‘Africa’s marching eagle’.

A large bird of prey, the secretarybird feeds mainly on large insects and small mammals, which it often stamps on before swallowing whole.

The secretarybird is a nomadic species and will often travel far and wide in search of food and other resources."

You left out reptiles, the main ingredient in its diet.
I think this is a Forest Buzzard, just about the only raptor that fits the geographic profile.

well this little guy, (relatively speaking of course), doesn't have a special name like "joey" nor can it crawl into a pouch

but it, too, is dependent while young on the adults in the group and is nourished on milk first then grass and plants, just like the joey

this herd was found in one of the varied terrains - of forest, canyons, grass plains, lakes and marshes - contained within Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania

no cheetahs since # 5242!!!!!

5366 - 5242 = [B]124[//B]

so to make up for that "error", I give you a trio of duos found in the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania

1 the guys sharing breakfast (cropped out of view in case someone is eating when looking at this)

2 ok Mom, what are we looking at???

3 check out our nearly synchronized tails

It's also been a while since this thread has had an egret trying to look irresistible.
