Interesting how hard it is to get feather detail in those Orange feathers. One of my first images taken of a similar bird with a Sigma 70-300 is even worse. It inspired me to do more bird photography, but boy it's a bad image. I thought I'd post it on-line somewhere but it is just too bad. Yours is much better.

Some colors seem the "bleed together" and by so doing, smother surface detail.It would be so much easier if adjacent feathers were always a different color.
