Yes, probably a mix of domesticated varieties of Mallard. Their appearance can vary anywhere from pure white with an orange bill (pekin, domesticated in China over 1000 years ago) to that of wild-type Mallard plumage, although noticeably more portly than the wild birds.

Another image of the young hawk that was just standing by the road. Thanks to help from a better birder than I, I'm pretty confident it's a juvenile red-tailed hawk.
