I can see you're having trouble with PF doubling your posts. Happens to me now & then as well. Inscrutable electronics.

A different treatment of a giraffe's head, this one has an advisor, or is the bird just whispering sweet nothings in the ear?

Hyrax with an itch. This one on top of Table Mountain, overlooking Cape Town, was totally conditioned to the presence of mobs of tourist and dozens of cell phones stretched to arm's length right at him.

Wish I could say the same about the specimens at Kloofendal Nature Reserve. They are so skittish, just point a Camera at them and they'r off. This was about the closes I have got so far, about 20 meters, lit inching my feet closer, behind a log,.

The baboons around Victoria Falls Hotel were pretty brave when humans were near, and thank goodness offering them any food was strictly forbidden and vigorously enforced (guards around pretty much all the time). This one, however, was out in a reserve.

Wise move! Baboons can become very aggressive and that's all you need at such a tourist spot!

LOL! Considering their purported ancestry, anything is possible. As long as it does'n qualify for superman, then its a bird . Oh, and this is Africa, all kinds of weird things pop up from time to time.

Village weaver (?). My id books didn't have very good portrayals of the weaver's faces.

Lesser Masked Weaver. It cannot be a sociable weaver (which I suspect you were thinking of) as the nest of that bird is one huge mess.
